FAQ

Webcam/microphone doesn't work for video calls

Clicking video (Teams/Zoom) meeting link in our Outlook email will let you join the meeting, but the webcam & microphone won’t work because of the remote access system we use.
  1. You want to copy the link, then paste it in the internet program on your own laptop/PC, more details below
  2. Alternatively you can use a telephone to call into the meeting
How you can confirm you are using apps on your own laptop/PC:
  1. A blue bar is seen at the top that means you are using remote access, minimize it to get to your own PC:
  2. White circle with green arrows on the apps at the bottom indicate you are using our remote access:
So what is happening is when you use our Outlook it runs off a server (you-->Nexus server-->app) which doesn’t have a camera/microphone. This is just a limitation of this type of remote access.

Zoom scheduling on your personal PC, so invite doesn’t come from a personal email address:

1.       Schedule, change Calendar to ‘Other Calendars’, Copy to Clipboard (or Copy Invitation)
