Sign in to Nexus Sites/Apps from Personal Devices via SSO & Multi Factor Authentication (MFA)

Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) is a secondary authentication method besides a password, commonly a code from a text, call, or app. This is also sometimes called two-step verification. Click here for more info.
SSO: Single Sign-On is a method to login to apps/websites utilizing your existing (hence single) password that you login to your PC with.

Prerequisites

MFA registration must be completed. Have smartphone/tablet nearby while logging in.

Sign in to Paylocity

  1. If you have access to a smartphone or tablet, you can access the Paylocity app using these steps: Access Paylocity from Mobile Devices
  2. If you would like to access Paylocity from a personally owned computer, go this link 
    https://access.paylocity.com/Login/SpInitiatedSso?companyID=329723
  3. If asked for a company ID, it is 329723
  4. If asked to Sign in to Microsoft, enter your company email. For security verify the website says microsoftonline.com (or one of the following: nexus-yfs.org ; live.com) (Please do not enter a phone number or Skype.)

  5. Enter in the password you login to work PCs
  6. Click Approve on your smartphone/tablet. If you don't get an alert on your phone with a moment open the  Microsoft Authenticator app & click arrow circle in top-right:

  7. If this is a device that you share with someone else, click No at the 'Stay signed in?'  prompt otherwise click Yes
  8. You should be signed-in

Zoom Sign-in from Personal Device


  1. Go to zoom.us/download then click Download (under Zoom Client for Meetings)
  2. Install Zoom from downloaded file
  3. Open Zoom, click Sign in, click SSO

  4. Company domain should be entered as nexus-yfs

  5. On website it opens (microsoftonline.comenter your work email address & password you login at work with
  6. Tap approve on your smartphone/tablet (on the device you setup with the barcode)
    1. If you don't get an alert on your phone open the  Microsoft Authenticator app & click arrow circle in top-right:
    2. You should also click the checkbox so you aren't bugged again later:
  7.  A pop-up may say "This site is trying to open Zoom Meeting" - in this case, check Always Allow and and press Open.
  8. You should now be logged into Zoom. However, clicking links to join Zoom within RDS remote access won't work, see next step
  9. To join meetings, you can't click link within remote access, copy the link (or meeting ID), minimize remote access, paste link into browser (or enter meeting ID in Zoom)
  10. Schedule meeting
    1. After you minimized remote access & opened Zoom on your personal device click Schedule, change Calendar to ‘Other Calendars’, Copy to Clipboard (or Copy Invitation) 
    2. Go back to remote access, create new meeting/appointment within Outlook, Paste 
      Alternate: sign-in to Zoom on remote PC (blue bar) & schedule from there. Remember video calls will not work there 

Join Microsoft Teams Meeting from Your Personal Device


  1. Copy the Teams 'join' link, minimize remote access
  2. Paste it into web browser (ex: Microsoft Edge or Chrome), click 'Join on the web instead'
    1. Downloading the app isn't recommended at this time
    2. Continue to use Microsoft Teams & Outlook within remote access for other functions like: scheduling meetings, chats, etc.

FAQ


  1. Sign in failed
    Please make sure you have registered MFA, follow link at top.
  2. I can't do anything after signing into Employee Hub from my smartphone
    Tap menu (3 lines) at top left corner. Scroll all the way to the bottom of the Menu and Click on View Desktop Version

  3. Websites that may ask for your Nexus Credentials
  4. Not ALL Nexus sites/apps can be access from a personal device. If you get a message 'You can't get there from here' this likely means this item can ONLY be accessed from a Nexus PC. The good news is you can use RDS Remote access to likely access the item you are trying to get to: Nexus Remote Desktop (RDS) Documentation
