Installing and Configuring the 3CX Android App
Download, install and configure the 3CX Android App with these steps:
Open Google Play Store, search for “3CX” and tap “Install”.
- When the installation is complete, open the app, “Agree” with the License Agreement and authorize the application permissions.
- Automatically configure the app by opening your scanning the QR code for your extension.
You can access the QR code for your 3CX extension on a computer by going to: https://sip.nexus-yfs.org:5001/webclient
Use the Microsoft button to login with your Nexus email & password (you login to the PC with)
Click the QR code towards the top right to display the QR code:
4. When you see the “Ready for calls” message on the dial screen, you can start making calls.
Swipe from left to right to open the sidebar menu to easily access the 3CX App’s key functions and manage your contacts and calls:
- “Voicemail” - To listen to your voicemail, please open Outlook and look for email messages with the subject starting with “New Voicemail from”. You can customize your voicemail greetings in Settings.
- “Recordings” - the 3CX call recording
feature is disabled. - “Schedule Conference” - create a new audio conference and invite participants.
- “Settings” - customize and configure the 3CX App options.
- “Scan QR Code” - scan the QR code with your device camera to automatically

Managing Calls
The 3CX Android App enables you to communicate effectively with:
1.) “Status” - browse and tap on the name of your colleague to call.
2.) “Contacts” - select a contact to view info and tap on the phone number to call.
3.) “Keypad” - directly dial numbers to “Call”.
4.) “Recents” - review call activity and tap entries on the list to call.
5.) “Messages” - the 3CX messaging/chat feature is disabled. Please use email or Microsoft Teams for instant messaging.
Please note: The Voicemail feature of the 3CX app is not supported. Voicemails are sent via email only.
Transferring Calls
To transfer an active call tap “Transfer” or “Att. Transfer”, enter the extension number or search by name and tap on “Transfer”. When using “Att.Transfer”, you can announce the call before tapping “Transfer” to complete the call divert.
Status & Forwarding Rules
To set your status and automatically configure call forwarding, tap on your profile image in the “Keypad” screen to select: To further customize your status and forwarding options, use the 3CX Web Client to configure forwarding rules and exceptions.
- “Available” - ready to receive calls.
- “Away” - temporarily unavailable, divert to voicemail.
- “Do Not Disturb” - divert to voicemail.
- “Lunch” - set a custom status.
- “Business Trip” - set a second custom status.

Settings
You can personalize your 3CX App by tapping on “Settings” to set your audio options, choose between WiFi and 3G connectivity or change the app’s theme. Configure the below options, amongst others:
- “Accounts” - select the default account to use, edit, activate and switch between accounts.
- “Audio Options” - configure advanced audio options and device settings.
- “Advanced” - set advanced networking and notification options.
- “Application Theme” - choose between the Black or White themes.
- “Voicemail Greetings” - record and configure your Voicemail Greeting messages, depending on your status.
- “Resend Credentials” - get a new “Welcome Email” in your inbox, including sensitive info such as your voicemail number and PIN code.
Queue
If you are a member of a call queue:
To sign in to or out of your call queues, click the queue icon towards the top right-hand corner of the screen:
If the icon is white, you are signed out of the queue. If the icon is blue, you are signed in to the queue.
Adjust eco/battery saving settings to prevent missed calls
- Open 3CX app on your cell phone
- Tap top-left three lines menu, Settings
- Advanced
- Scroll/swipe down & ensure these two items are enabled/on: 'Switch off battery usage optimization' & 'Switch on background data'
- Android app settings (at bottom)
- Scroll then tap Battery, set to Unrestricted
