Set Microsoft Office XML Handler as the Default XML Viewer
- Right-click the file that was saved as an XML file and select Properties
- Confirm that the Type of file ends with (.xml)
(It might say something else besides Adobe Acrobat Document first, the important thing is that it says (.xml) at the end) - Press Cancel to close the properties dialog
- If the type of file you selected was confirmed to end with (.xml) on Step 2, proceed to the next step. If the file type didn't end in (.xml), select a different file believed to be an XML file and return to step 1 on that file.
- Right click on the confirmed XML file and select (6.) Open With -> (7.) Choose Another App
8. Check ‘Always use this app to open .xml files’
9. Click Office XML Handler
10. Click OK
The XML file(s) should then open in and be associated with the correct Microsoft Office program for the XML file:
