Share Computer Sound & Video during a Video Meeting in a Meeting Room

Include computer sound in a room with a Teams device

Meeting room Teams devices allow you to share visual content using HDMI or other video cables connected to the room console/touchscreen.
Unfortunately, Microsoft don't yet support sharing computer sound also this way.

If you want to share computer sound (as well as video) when you’re in a meeting room with a Teams device in it:
  1. Join the meeting from the computer by selecting Audio off when you join the meeting, which will automatically mute not only your microphone but also any audio playing from the teams meeting to prevent echo.

  2. Select Share content Share screen button in your meeting controls, and then Include computer sound.

Notes:
- To avoid echo, remember to keep only one device’s mic and speaker on in a room.
- Try to minimize the number of apps you run while you’re sharing your system audio. If your computer is running too many apps, your audio could suffer.

To join the meeting from a computer, ensure that the person using the computer has been invited to the meeting via Outlook.

Please note: Joining the meeting via casting is not supported from non-Nexus computers and accounts.
One must be signed into an account that's in the same tenant as the Teams device you want to cast to.

There are other things that can interfere with casting, so the preferred method is to invite the person who needs to share their screen to the meeting via Outlook.
That person can then join the video meeting from the meeting invitation and start sharing their screen.
