Joining a video call (created by someone else)

  1. No sign-in required. Simply click the link from email or click Join & type in meeting ID

Manage Participants & Features

Be aware only host has most features

Mute participants

  1. Click Participants at bottom
  2. Go to name on side-bar & click Mute
  3. You can also Mute All, Mute on entry, etc. simply click 3 dots to see more options:


Find Meeting ID & Password

  1. Click i‘ in top-right


  1. Option 2: Click Participants at bottom, click Invite at bottom of sidebar

Lock meeting so no one else can join

  1. Click Security at bottom
  2. Lock Meeting

Lock/Unlock Screen Share for participants

  1. Click Security at bottom
  2. Share Screen


Time Limits

  1. Free users (top of Zoom app will show when signed in) who schedule/create meetings are limited to meetings of a 40-minute duration.
    You can easily start another call. If this will be a routine situation for you, please engage IT to see if Microsoft Teams would be a better fit for your use case, or if a Zoom license can be purchased


  1. 40min limit may be inadvertently triggered is one person joins the meeting twice because of an issue on their end


Dedicated Conference Room Systems

Description: mounted camera, tablet, or specific remote (Cisco/Tandberg); not a laptop

  1. Reserve the room per local site process or reference this guide
  2. Bring your meeting ID (seen in email/calendar invite) to room
  3. If there is a tablet this is a Zoom Room which is documented in another KB article


Webcam or sound issues on PC

Black/No camera

  1. Select your webcam as seen in picture below. This is likely because you have two webcams, one built-in to laptop with lid closed & corded one
