Turn off Notifications / Pop-ups in Chrome or Edge
- Open Chrome .
- At the top right, click three dots menu Settings.
- Under "Privacy and security", click Site Settings.
- Under Permissions, click Notifications.
- Note any unfamiliar websites then get rid of them, in the bottom 'Allowed to send notification' section:
- Click the three dots menu to the right of the site, and then click Delete
- Click Block if you believe you may want to Allow the site again in the future
- If you are unsure if a site is good simply remove all of them. The next time you visit the site you can always allow it again
- Block all future notifications prompts by clicking 'Don't allow sites to send notifications'
Be careful which websites you Allow notifications for as this allows them to send pop-ups (in bottom right) when you aren't even using the internet:
Sites may pretend to be legitimate (ex: weather or finance), but are malicious so check the website URL address is one you know before clicking Allow.
- In Edge , go to Settings and more in the upper right corner of your browser window.
- Select Settings > Cookies and site permissions and select Notifications. Under Allow, you will find a list of websites that are currently sending you notifications.
- Select the three dots next to the website from which you want to stop receiving notifications and select Remove
