Set up Home Office Equipment

Step 1: Set up the monitor(s) using the HDMI or DisplayPort cable put in the monitor box, according to the instructions included with the monitor(s).

 




Step 2: Remove the docking station from the box. Your docking station might look slightly different from the photo.


 Step 3: Locate the docking station power adapter and power cord: 



Step 4: If it is not already assembled, connect the docking station power adapter to the power cord:



Step 5: Plug the power cord in to a wall power outlet. Plug the power adapter in to the docking station:



Step 6: Connect the DisplayPort or HDMI cables to the docking station. Connect the other end to the monitor.


 

Step 7: Connect the cord for the mouse and keyboard to the dock. If your mouse and/or keyboard is wireless, connect the wireless USB adapter to the laptop.


Step 8: Locate the USB 3.0 cord for the monitor’s USB hub. It is found in the monitor box. It has a SuperSpeed “SS” logo on one of the ends.

 

 Step 9: Locate the USB port with “SS” above it on the dock. Insert the compatible end from the monitor cord into the dock. Connected the other end to the monitor.



Step 10:  Connect the laptop to the dock by connecting the dock’s cord to the USB-C port on the left side of the laptop.
If your laptop has two USB-C ports on the left side, the one furthest back is the primary one that should be used with the laptop.
You may disconnect the dock by removing this cord. This cord also powers the laptop and charges its battery.
