Disable the Research Pane in Excel
1. Start Excel
2. Press Alt+F11 to activate the "Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications" editor.
If your keyboard has a "fn" key and F11 below home, you will need to press Alt+Fn+F11
2. Press Ctrl+G to activate the Immediate window.
3. Enter the following line, or copy/paste it from this post into the Immediate window:
Application.CommandBars("Research").Enabled = False
4. With the insertion point anywhere in the line, press Enter.
5. Close the "Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications" window.
6. The Research task pane shouldn't appear anymore.
